In the local derby on Saturday, the Devils played at Maddingley Park in perfect conditions.
The U19s started the day off tremendously with a hard-fought 7 point win. Lachy Ingham, Jarrod White, and Cooper Parsons-Jones all kicked 3 goals each and were our best players.
Our strong Reserves side recorded a huge 148 point win over an undermanned Marsh team. Alex Sweet kicked 4 goals and was in the best along with Daniel Lalor, Adam Azzopardi, and evergreen veteran Jacob Zeestraten.
In a scrappy game of senior football, Darley was able to grind out a 50 point win over a young opposition side. Mace Cousins was awarded the medal for best on ground and Brett Bewley, Bailey Young, and 18 year old Lucas Impey, in his first senior game for the club, were also named best on ground. The win brought the Light/Whelahan Shield back to the Pigeon Shed.

NETBALL
It was another successful day on the court for the Devils and they almost came away with a “clean sweep” of the court.
The U19’s opened the day with a huge 64 goal win and played tremendously.
Once the start whistle was blown till the end of the game, the E grades remained strong and in control. The team worked together, minimised their own errors, and took advantage of each of the defensive and mid-court intercepts. Well done team on another win.
Wow, what an intense game for our D Grades. From the second quarter, there was confusion with the score – this continued until the end with not knowing who won the match or lost. Our defence in the last quarter saw many turnovers, and unfortunately, we didn’t capitalise on them. Next week is a new week – keep your heads up!
C, B, and A grade sides all played outstanding matches collectively and the scoreboard reflected this.
