A disappointing day playing the in form Bloods where we were jumped from the outset with Melton kicking six unanswered goals in the first quarter.

We steadied in the second and were able to reduce the margin to 20 points and went in at the half with some good momentum, albeit behind.

Unfortunately we were unable to get our game going in the second half and were outplayed by a class in form outfit failing to register a goal for the half.

Adam Azzopardi tried valiantly all day along with Myers, Baker, Le Huray and B Bewley.

Plenty of great learnings to take from the game as we commit to getting better and bouncing back against Sebastopol this week.

Go Devils!

It’s strange how things go in footy games; revolving door moments leading to a 16 point lead at quarter time.

For the next three quarters the game was even, both teams as equal as the ladder says.

We still didn’t take a full team of reserve players in, we required two dads from the 17s team to fill in, thanks Jase and Watto I hope you both enjoyed playing with us.

At the last change we had a sniff, only 10 points behind and we were confident of bringing it home.

Unfortunately for us we ran out of legs and Melton not prepared to let it slip held on for a 17 point win.

On a good note for the first time the Taylor brothers got to play a game together. Jack, Charlie and Sam, proudly coached by Coach Daddo.

I just wonder if only we kicked the 1st goal!!!!

On a beautiful day for football, we welcomed Melton to Darley park.

We knew we were up for a tough and physical contest and early on the game showed with the scores staying even for most of the first half leaving us as equals at halftime.

We came out of the gates after halftime kicking four goals to one to take the lead heading into the last quarter. The boys holding strong and fighting out a hard earned and excellent 22 point victory.

This team is only just starting to show what it can do and where it can go, they’re playing together and the results on the field are showing.

Looking for redemption from the previous week’s loss, the girls hit the ground running and though again missing a few players, the entire team working together brought home this victory.

The first quarter saw us put 3.5 on the board, but the door was still ajar for Lakers even though they had only kicked 3 behinds for the quarter. However, the damage was done in the next 2 quarters where we kicked 10.7 to Lakers 1 behind.  This was made available through some great linking up and sharing of the ball moving it forward as everyone got involved, and once forward it was the finishing touches from Bessell and Clarke who kicked 10 goals between them.

Though we were not winning many of the ruck contests, it was a couple of players in our midfield that went to work roving the oppositions taps lead strongly by hill and Tabone who got the ball out to Dalgleish, Condon, Hitch and Oughtred who then fed the ball inside our F50 area.

‘Spud’ Morrissey playing her first game for the year provided much needed pressure in the forward line supported by Clarke-Hill and, Lara Johnson (back from the Jets) was ever reliable as she plugged holes around the ground as the team needed.  Unfortunately for the second week in a row, we were limited with bench rotations due to injuries to players and will be waiting to hear how they pull-up.

A special thanks to Ben Skinner who stood in as coach for the day, he did an outstanding job.

We now focus on our next challenge being Bacchus Marsh next Saturday evening at Maddingley Oval.

What an amazing game the 19s played this weekend against Melton.

From the very first quarter the girls absolutely killed it down the entire court.

We also welcomed back Greta who filled in down the scoring end and put up 52 goals.

We set a goal for each quarter to reach 20 goals which was achieved through a whole team effort.

Overall, the girls smashed it this week and are ready to play Sebastopol next week.

Round 7 was a tough game against Melton, they have a very strong side and held this throughout all four quarters.

We worked through a few offensive set ups in the play which worked well but will get stronger over time and training.

Ultimately awesome effort from everyone, heaps of stuff to work on going into our next match against Sebas hopefully we can get another win on the board!

What a cracker win for our D grade girls this week. It was by far our best game of the season.

There was fantastic defensive pressure down the court, and a huge shout out to Mikala for her first game in the D’s – and what an amazing game it was!

Our persistent effort across the whole court was evident on the scoreboard, and everyone should be so proud of their efforts.

I’m excited to see how the latter half of the season plays out as we continue to build and grow as a team!

A big well done to our C grade girls today who took home a win against Melton 34-30.

After a few rocky weeks we were able to get our head back in the game and finish off with a win.

Although we were down the first half of the game being 1-2 points down, we were able to keep our heads held high and fight for those turnovers.

The girls worked noticeably better with their control of the ball and feeding it seamlessly into our shooters.

Our girls in defence also showed such strong and persistent pressure while constantly contesting the ball.

The improvement and quality of netball played from last week to this week was so great to see.

Keep it up girls, bring on Sebastopol next week!

A great game for B grade as we bounced back after a difficult week prior.

The girls were smarter, faster and stronger across every aspect of the game today.

It was a game full of positives, most notably Taleah’s sharp shooting that left Melton not even wanting to defend her shots because they were certain goals every time!

We have welcomed some new additions this week in Abby and Ella to stack up our goaling and mid court.

Defensively our girls were all over it, taking away so many opportunities for Melton to score.

A great team effort and well done girls bring on next week.

Another great win for our A grade girls coming away with a 28 goal defeat over Melton.

A huge shout out to Sophia Andreula who made her A grade debut and had a killer game through the mid court.

An old A grade superstar and club legend Tarni Lopes also joined the side today in their convincing win.

Overall it was a great effort across the board.
