What an incredible day it was commemorating our ANZACs.

A massive outing for our netball department with all six teams winning, and our senior and women’s footy taking out the shields also.

Amazing effort by our reserves footy team who finished with a draw.

Rd 3 saw us take on cross town rivals Bacchus Marsh in our traditional Anzac Day weekend clash.

We started well bringing some good pressure around the contest with Denham, Andy Azzopardi and Baker providing some good impetus in close.

New inclusion Leigh Spiteri kicked our first (of his 3) with Johnson and Inglis (3 goals each)reaping the rewards of some big contests from Brady Wright

BM fought their way back into the contest in the 2nd half and but for some solid defending by Le Huray, Ancrum and M Ward the result could have been tighter.

Although good to get back on the winners list, our last Q in particular highlighted we have plenty to work and look forward to putting it into practice against an in form Ballarat this week.

Go Devils!

By Geez we almost got there, a draw , A STINKING DRAW!

Some will say it’s better than a loss but our Reserves were gutted.

With only seconds to go we had a 6 point buffer but to the opposition’s credit they wouldn’t accept defeat.

They played on from a kick in and took the ball all the way to the 50 meter line where it was marked by one of their forwards.

The siren went and he had to kick a goal from 55 out, and he did, and the game was drawn.

Although we didn’t get the four points, we did fight and scrap all game. It was a battle between two local clubs desperately fighting for bragging rites and neither of us walked away with them.

We welcomed Bacchus Marsh to Darley Park for our round three matchup. Beautiful day for football.

We started witha close and heated contest playing the game on our terms showing the way we compete and play our game.

Bacchus Marsh took over from the second quarter onwards and showed they were the better team on the day.

We had strong individual performances but not enough team connection to handle the game as we’d have liked.

We continued to improve and fought valiantly until the final whistle.

The results will turn our way if we continue to work hard and improve ourselves individually which will then help us collectively to be better equipped to get the results we desire

The day was a momentous occasion as our players lined up for the unveiling of our Premiership Flag from last year and then after a much-delayed start, our game finally got underway.

We may have underestimated our opponents a little and though the final score looks like an easy win, it was far from it as the pressure was on from the first bounce!

We seem to take much longer than our opponents to adjust and settle to the conditions being dewy and our disposal was not at all clean which was due to the tackling pressure our opponents were putting on our players.

We eventually got our game going and this was due to the hard ‘in and under’ work from Dalgleish, Condon, Lister and Hitch who got the ball out to our runners Skenderis, Killeen and Le Huray.

Once in our forward line, our accuracy at goal, teamwork, and the pressure to keep the ball in our F50 led by Bessell, Rawlings, Gillon and Clarke-Hill was pleasing to see.

We also started getting first use of the ball around the ground and this was through strong work in the ruck by Otutaha and Watson.

Down the other end of the field, our defence led strongly by Oughtred and Johnson (playing her first senior game) with great support from Taylor, Pearce, Anthony, and Wilks were able to repel many of the times Bacchus Marsh did get it inside their F50.

Overall, it was a hard-fought 4 quarter game win with many take-aways for us to work on.

On a pleasing note, we welcomed back Montelle Pontisso for her first game returning from an ACL but unfortunately Madi Anthony hurt her knee late in the game and at this stage we are waiting on results.

We are playing Carisbrook away this Sunday.

What a win from the girls on the weekend! And our first win for the season.

It felt like we started to gel as a team, and we made some great decisions which were evident on the scoreboard.

Each player played their part and we reaped the rewards.

Megan and Sienna in shooter and attack worked amazing together, it was as if they’d been playing together for years.

Ella was a stand out in defence this week with her constant turnovers and determination.

A great game across the whole court – let’s hope we can keep it up going into the latter half of the season!

Another awesome win against Bacchus Marsh 43-14 alongside our 6/6 wins for the day.

Thank you to Alex and Bella for coming up to C grade and helping our shooters out.

Our girls showed such a good game defensively and provided constant determination for that ball, putting our opposition under constant pressure.

A special mention to our mid courters such as Ava D, Ebony and Ellie who worked so well while seamlessly bringing it down the court to our shooters.

A big well done today girls, let’s keep our undefeated streak going.

A great win from the girls today after a slow start.

The girls were able to get the game back on our terms and come away with a convincing win against our cross town rivals.

A special mention to Addi Wright who took vital intercepts early to get us back in control of the game and continued with such a strong performance.

It was great to have another awesome hit out as we find our rhythm and continue to build each week.

Well done to Sophia and Maddy for another strong running performance throughout the mid court. All round well done girls on the win and getting it done in the heat

A huge win for the whole netball club who went 6/6 in the first time in club history.

Our A grade girls finished off the day with an outstanding win over Bacchus Marsh, the final score being 86-9.

A huge congratulations to Olivia Cawthray who won best on and the Light Wheelahan medal.

It was such an outstanding performance across the board with every player playing their roll in a range of different combinations.
